We, at CodeBit, have the mission of improving people's lives through technology, together with training and knowledge dissemination programs.

To achieve this, we count on several partners, such as the Writing the Future Program (Programa Escrevendo o Futuro), an initiative of Itaú Social, whose purpose is to strengthen the development of teaching, reading, and writing in Brazilian public schools.

The project is responsible for conducting training for educators and also promotes writing contests, such as the “Portuguese Language Olympiad - Writing the Future”, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

About the Portal

The Writing the Future Portal is a platform that concentrates all the actions carried out by the Itaú Social initiative. In addition, it functions as an online learning environment for educators, promoting interactions among users by providing materials, methodologies, news, and much more.
Through the portal, Portuguese language teachers have access to valuable resources to enhance their professional growth, innovate their teaching strategies, share experiences and challenges, and get inspired by the experiences of other professionals.

CodeBit's Role

Moodle, the course environment of "Writing the Future", was developed by another service provider, but over time, the users of this environment had to be migrated to another platform, which was built by our team.

The challenge was to develop a project capable of supporting all business rules and offering full integration and monitoring of student progress. In addition to applying management mechanisms, registration tracking, cohort management, and substitution of registered users.

The Implementations

Within the "Writing the Future" platform, our team deployed an administrative panel that grants full autonomy to the program team. Now they can perform actions such as publishing, editing, or deleting content on the portal without depending on the development team.

In addition, our specialists implemented integration with Google's two-factor authentication, offering greater protection, security, and control in administrative access.

At the same time, we optimized Moodle to allow integration with course offerings, management and tracking, registrations, and user progress monitoring.

Last but not least, we implemented student participation control in the courses, through daily performance reports, as well as sending automated messages for defined triggers. Everything is managed through the portal's administrative panel.

Integration with Moodle PHP

Results Achieved

With the cutting-edge technology executed by our team, the Portuguese Language Olympiad, considered the main project of the Writing the Future Program, reached surprising numbers in 2021. In total, there were 112,510 registrations, 59,008 teachers involved, and 27,847 participating public schools.

With availability and accessibility, the project was a great success, reached a broad audience, and generated positive impacts on the community in general.

The Progress

Until 2020, we, at Codebit, were only responsible for the course platform on Moodle. However, the following year, thanks to the seriousness and commitment with which we conduct our work, we also took over the registration environment for the Portuguese Language Olympiad, and since then, we have focused our efforts and expertise on implementing significant improvements that guarantee the quality of the project and excellent experiences for users.
