How is the process of obtaining an AWS competency?

To answer this question, we contacted infrastructure project manager André Lourenço, who detailed the entire process, in addition to the necessary conditions for achieving the competency.

According to André, to obtain the Education competency, it is necessary to present four success stories related to the application sector. In addition, it is necessary to fill out a comprehensive checklist, which requests details and evidence of the processes executed in each case.

Once this is done, the document must be sent for internal evaluation by AWS, which conducts an external audit to validate all documented items. After the completion of the validation meeting, the document is directed to a new internal analysis, which examines all presented points and decides whether the proposal will be approved or denied. In other words, this is a meticulous process, involving many back-and-forths, but, without a doubt, it is extremely rewarding when approved.
