Women in technology: a story of strength and evolution
Strength, empowerment, and constant evolution, these are just a few attributes we assign to our female team.

To reinforce the vigor of the women who make up our team, in today's post, we publish the testimonial of Brenda Paulino de Araújo, who is an infrastructure analyst at CodeBit. Continue reading and follow the account and responsibilities involved in the career of our 18-year-old collaborator. Discover how Brenda, even at such a young age, deals with the challenges surrounding her professional development.

Who is Brenda?

Brenda Paulino de Araújo is 18 years old, studies Software Engineering, and works as an infrastructure analyst at CodeBit.

The beginning and the challenges

Before starting her journey at CodeBit, Brenda worked with fiber support and gained some experience in the area of cloud computing. At the time of hiring, which took place in early January of this year, Brenda had the basic knowledge to join the team and learned from Code's director that she could be hired permanently if she earned the AWS Solutions Architect certification (a validation of technical expertise and system deployment for scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS).
Initially, as she did not have solid knowledge, she thought the certification would be completely out of her reach.
Even without fully believing she would be able to pass the AWS exam with only a few months of preparation, Brenda set a goal: she adjusted her study routine to balance it with college and began to focus more on the journey rather than, necessarily, the final destination.

Discipline - the key factor

Brenda not only accepted but dived into the challenge. In January of this year, she dedicated herself fully to studying. Brenda studied, on average, 3 hours a day. She woke up at 5 a.m. to exercise, reserved 30 minutes to acquire the necessary knowledge during the morning, and when she got home from work, at the end of the day, she still studied for another 2 and a half hours.
Brenda maintained this routine for over a month.
On February 6th, she had the pleasant surprise of discovering that she had achieved the Cloud Practitioner certification, an initial AWS certification required to take the AWS Solutions Architect exam. In practice, the Cloud Practitioner ensures that the user understands how the cloud works, what the main services are, and their deployment methods. It also reassures that the certified student is knowledgeable about pricing and security issues.
Brenda celebrated her first achievement. But, at the same time, she was apprehensive since college recess would end and her time to dedicate to studying would be reduced. So, she took advantage of the Carnival week to study even more. But she also dedicated herself to work demands.

The reward

A month after earning the Cloud Practitioner, Brenda celebrated another feat: passing the AWS Solutions Architect-Associate exam. The certification brought not only the validation of her knowledge but also self-recognition of her potential. She learned that AWS exams are not impossible—as many say—but that, in addition to technical knowledge, they demand planning, goals, purpose, and discipline.

Congratulations, Brenda! We are proud of your achievement, your consistency, and your discipline. We are very grateful to have you on our team of collaborators. We can visualize a bright future for you, full of victories and overcoming challenges.
