A recent study by the Harvard Business Review points out that 74% of organizations reported a competitive advantage due to the ease and speed of capitalising on opportunities after migrating to the cloud.
The ability it brings to produce and deliver more efficient and cheaper results is a major business incentive that can make all the difference in the market.
‘Boom’ in the pandemic
The last few months, for example, have been marked by an acceleration in the process of modernization and expansion of the cloud, largely driven by the pandemic.
According to Marcos Andrade, CMO of Claranet, a multinational technology company focusing on managed cloud services, this context is reflected in company figures and opens up new business opportunities.
“Today, our clients show a reduction of up to 40% in IT operating costs, in addition to the optimization of processes and services that make room for solving more client needs,” he explains.
Sectors such as services and healthcare are in Cloud Computing
Currently, the services sector is the one that uses cloud technology the most, accounting for 30% of all the multinational's sales, followed by retail, technology, healthcare, and industry. As a result of the need to move offline and establish a presence online, this process generates survival for many businesses.
Technology companies have recorded around a 25% increase in demand for the cloud option since the start of the pandemic.
Migration to the cloud is expected to expand even further in the coming years as the primary path for data storage and traffic. According to IDC, IoT is one of the areas where Edge Computing will have a significant impact by 2025.
5G
This movement will be driven by the arrival of 5G, which will take cloud applications to a higher level. Furthermore, implementation tends to become cheaper for institutions, as the greater the cloud presence, the cheaper the allocation can become.
