Proof of this is that, in thousands of companies around the world, this tool already plays a leading role in most internal routines and processes.

But it is not always an easy task to understand all the terms and features of the cloud, especially considering that most of the words are not part of our native language.

CLOUD STORAGE

Storage in the cloud is the practice of storing, managing, accessing, and sharing data, files, and complete systems through an online tool.
In other words, instead of storing information locally on hard drives or other physical devices, data is stored on remote servers and maintained by cloud service providers.

SUBSCRIPTION

The so-called "cloud subscription" involves a recurring payment model for hiring online services.
With cloud computing, users do not need to invest in software, since they can use the service on a rental model, paying a regular fee to access and use services hosted in the cloud, while also enjoying various benefits such as online access, automatic updates, scalability as needed, and constant monitoring.

CLOUD BACKUP

Backup is nothing more than a security copy to prevent possible losses caused by lost or misplaced information.
With cutting-edge technology, cloud service providers, besides offering uncomplicated backup, also recover data at any time in just a few clicks, ensuring flexibility and protection in backup management.
In addition, in cloud backup, storage is done through remote cloud computing servers, which do not demand physical installations and do not cause interruptions in processes.

DATA CENTER

A Data Center is an infrastructure that acts as a "data farm" with multiple servers, machines, and connected networks to ensure high data processing and storage potential.
Managed by cloud service providers, they provide remote access to users with total availability, monitoring, and scalability.

INFRASTRUCTURE AS A SERVICE (IaaS)

IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) is a resource available specifically in updated hardware, or, in other words, in computing infrastructure.
In practice, it covers server space, network connections, bandwidth, IP addresses, and load balancers.
Infrastructure as a Service offers users the ability to provision processing, storage, and network connectivity according to their needs.
Under this service model, customers can use the resources to develop their own applications.

SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE (SaaS)

SaaS (software as a service) is a cloud computing service model that offers software applications ready for use over the internet.
The apps are accessed through a web browser, without the need for local installation.
In addition, users do not need to manage the infrastructure, maintenance, or software updates, as all of this is handled by the SaaS provider.

PaaS (Platform as a Service)

PaaS, which stands for Platform as a Service, is a cloud computing model that allows companies to develop, run, and manage their own applications in the cloud, without the need to maintain their own structure or servers.
Thus, the PaaS provider, such as PaaS AWS (developed by Web Services and executed by the Codebit team), is responsible for providing all resources needed for application development, networks, servers, operating system software, storage, databases, and various other tools.
In other words, the most complex processes related to application infrastructure, such as monitoring and maintaining systems and running servers, are the responsibility of the PaaS provider.

PUBLIC CLOUD

Regarded as the most popular model on the market, the public cloud is hosted in a virtual environment that is shared with other users, integrating a simple yet highly functional solution.
The public cloud does not offer hardware or infrastructure developed exclusively for a business, so it does not allow resource customization.
On the other hand, the model is very economical and enables users to pay only for the costs of the contracted capacity. Investments related to hardware, maintenance, and applications are the responsibility of the server provider itself.

PRIVATE CLOUD

Ideal for meeting the needs of a single business, the private cloud has fully customizable resources, architecture, and maintenance.
In this format, all hardware and software are maintained on a private network and directed entirely to the demands and needs of the contracting company.
These characteristics make the solution more customizable and suitable for ensuring organizational control over the business.
In addition, in this format, the infrastructure has more control and monitoring to reduce potential security-related issues.

HYBRID CLOUD

As the name implies, the hybrid cloud is a combination of public and private clouds, and its mission is to extract the best of both models to meet all of the business's needs.
In practice, the hybrid cloud operates with exclusive servers to ensure the storage of more sensitive, confidential, or important data. On the other hand, it also features some shared software to store less sensitive information.
In short, the hybrid model is capable of promoting a high level of information security with relatively lower costs.
After all, not all data is kept on servers with reinforced protection.
